The Max Levine Ensemble is a DIY pop-punk band, which formed in September 2000 under the unlikeliest of conditions. You see, we were a bunch of friends who went to high school together and one day decided to start a band. I know, you’re thinking “what’s so unlikely about that?” Well, I guess it’s not so unlikely. The point is that we currently have a four-man lineup: David “Spoonboy” Combs, Ben Epstein, Mat Lewis, and Nick Popovici. We like to play socially conscious songs and encourage dancing while doing so. We have a 7” record on this here Crafty Records and it’s pretty good if I do say so myself. For more information about us, questions, “what’s ups”,
or whatever else, you can email Spoonboy: thespoonbow@hotmail.com
The spirit animals are: mat lewis, brad lewis, chris kim, and spoonboy
(A note from Crafty dAN)
You may have noticed that Spoonboy is in both of them. When I went on my first tour ever, we went into bloomington indiana and we didn't know any one. We played a pretty terible show at a house we should not have played at. It was pouring and I was sick. That night after the show we met up with Chris, and spoonboy. We were fed and offered a place to sleep. Even though spoonboy could not make it to the show, he gave us $5 for gas. That was probably the coolest thing that anyone has ever done for us on any tour.
About a year later he wanted someone to put out the Spirit animals/Max Levine split on vinly. I was happy to be able to do it. This was the first vinyl record we ever released. It is now in its second pressing.
